The Spiritual Bond with Our Pets
Exploring Connections Beyond the Physical World
As a veterinarian and a deeply spiritual person, I’ve always been intrigued by the unseen connections that bind us to our beloved pets. Throughout my life, I’ve worked with psychics and spiritual individuals who have helped me understand the profound energy that exists within us and between us and our pets. These connections often transcend the physical world, reminding us that even when our pets pass on, they are still with us—just on a different frequency.
We exist in a tangible world, yet those who have passed, including our cherished pets, exist in another dimension—a different energy level. While physicists can explain the complexities of energy and dimensions more scientifically, the essence of this concept is simple: we are all energy, vibrating at different frequencies. Here on Earth, we vibrate at a lower frequency, which may prevent us from perceiving beings in higher vibrational dimensions. This understanding has brought me peace when facing loss, as I’ve come to believe that our loved ones, both human and animal, remain present even after death.
Signs and Connections After Loss
Losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult experiences a person can face. However, I’ve found solace in the belief that our pets’ spirits remain with us in subtle but meaningful ways. Often, they send us signs to remind us of their continued presence, and these signs can provide comfort during moments of grief.
I’ve learned to ask for these signs. In doing so, I’ve received messages that bring both clarity and reassurance. For example, when my mother passed away, I frequently sought her guidance. On one occasion, I was struggling with my father’s decision to remarry someone I didn’t approve of. Feeling frustrated and conflicted, I sat in my car one morning and asked my mom, “What do I do about Dad and this woman he’s going to marry?” I took a deep breath and asked for a sign.
Moments later, I turned on the radio and heard the song “Rude” by Magic, with lyrics about marrying someone “no matter what.” For me, this was my mother’s way of gently advising me to let go and let my father make his own choices. While some might dismiss this as coincidence, I found peace and meaning in the experience.
Children and Their Connection to Energy
Children, with their open minds and unjaded hearts, are often more in tune with these spiritual connections. My five-year-old daughter once provided an incredible example of this. One morning, I walked into her bedroom and found her sitting on her bed, petting an animal that I couldn’t see.
When I asked her what she was doing, she replied, “I’m petting Toby.” I was stunned—our dog Toby had passed away months earlier. My daughter explained that Toby came to visit her every morning. She was so sincere and matter-of-fact about it that I couldn’t dismiss her experience. While part of me felt joy, another part longed for the ability to see Toby one last time.
This moment sparked my journey into learning more about psychic abilities, energy, and the connections between our world and the spiritual realm.

The Role of Energy and Vibration
Energy is the foundation of everything, connecting us to the world around us and the beings within it. Music is a perfect example of how energy works. It vibrates at specific frequencies, and these vibrations influence our moods, emotions, and even our physical well-being. For instance, certain frequencies, like 432 Hz Theta Waves, are known to promote relaxation and enhance mental clarity.
As a veterinarian, I’ve witnessed how energy impacts pets and their owners firsthand. If a pet owner is anxious, their pet often mirrors that emotion. Similarly, when an owner is calm and confident, their pet tends to reflect that energy. Recognizing this has taught me the importance of maintaining a positive, high vibrational-energy presence in the examination room. By doing so, I can create a more reassuring environment for both the pet and the owner.
Animal Communication: A Sixth Sense
Through my journey, I discovered animal communication, which goes beyond our traditional understanding of how pets communicate. Animals, like humans, have a sixth sense—a form of intuitive or psychic communication. By tapping into this ability, we can deepen our relationships with our pets and understand their emotions and needs in profound ways.
A client of mine, Danielle MacKinnon, introduced me to this concept. Danielle is an animal communicator who performed a reading for me, sharing details about my pets that she couldn’t have known otherwise. She relayed messages from pets who had passed, even mentioning their names and specific experiences we had shared. This reading solidified my belief in the spiritual connection between humans and animals.
The Science Behind Intuition
While spiritual experiences can feel intangible, there is scientific research that supports the intuitive abilities of animals. For instance, biologist Rupert Sheldrake conducted studies on dogs and their ability to sense when their owners were coming home, often from miles away. Such studies suggest that animals are deeply attuned to energy and vibrations in ways we are only beginning to understand.
Humans, too, have intuitive abilities, though many of us fail to recognize or nurture them. Have you ever thought about someone, only to have them call you moments later? This isn’t mere coincidence—it’s a form of psychic connection. Similarly, when pets pass away, they often leave subtle signs of their presence. These might include hearing a familiar sound, seeing a name mentioned unexpectedly, or being reminded of a cherished memory.
Practicing Intuition and Spiritual Connection
If you’re interested in exploring these connections further, there are many tools and practices you can try. Meditation, for example, is a powerful way to tune into your inner self and connect with higher vibrations. Listening to calming music, practicing mindfulness, and even experimenting with angel cards or other intuitive exercises can help you become more aware of the energy around you.
I’ve had the privilege of learning from spiritual leaders like John Holland, who has taught me about mediumship and connecting with the other side. His insights, combined with my experiences with animal communicators like Danielle MacKinnon, have given me a deeper appreciation for the spiritual bonds we share with our pets.
Recognizing Signs from Our Pets
When our pets pass, the grief can be overwhelming. However, as time goes on, we may begin to notice signs that they are still with us. A soft bark in the distance, a mention of their name, or even a vivid dream can all be ways in which our pets remind us of their presence. The key is to remain open to these experiences and trust the messages you receive.
Children often serve as a reminder of this openness. Their lack of skepticism allows them to connect with the spiritual world more easily than most adults. By nurturing our own sense of wonder and compassion, we can begin to reconnect with these higher energies.

The Power of Energy and Love
The energy we share with our pets doesn’t disappear when they leave this world. It transforms into something intangible yet deeply meaningful. Whether through a sign, a memory, or a feeling, these connections remind us that love transcends physical boundaries.
By embracing these spiritual connections, we can find peace in knowing that our pets are still with us—guiding us, loving us, and waiting for us to notice the signs.
